QUESTION: Are we commanded to warn people of the coming wrath of God?
Mark 16:15 And He (Christ) said unto them, GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD, AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE.
NOTE: If you see a man on a raft who doesn’t see the waterfalls for which he is headed and you don’t call out and warn him then you are guilty of his death. If you don’t warn people of the «White Throne Judgment» and instead remain quiet then you pass a silent judgment on that person. You knew what was coming and you didn’t tell him.
Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
NOTE: God will require us to give an account of our faithfulness in warning the lost of their sinful condition. Can you make the same statement as the Apostle Paul? He made the statement that he was pure from the blood of all men.
Acts 20:26-28 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Ezekiel 33:3-6 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning: if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head, He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
Jeremiah 48:10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
NOTE: Woman, «While you were gone, I met the most amazing man, He told me all about God and Christ’s redeeming power.»
Husband, «Did you tell him to mind his own business?»
Woman, «If you had seen him you would have known, he was minding his business.»
Mark 8:34-38 Â And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
NOTE: God places more value on one soul than He does on the world. God could save the world but told you to go, God uses people.
Isaish 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
ANSWER: Absolutely, yes.
Daniel 7:9-10 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
NOTE: The thousand thousands ministering unto him will be the redeemed of this age; the born again Christian. We will be at the Great White Throne Judgment helping to judge the world.
The ten thousand times ten thousands that will be standing before Him will be those who rejected Jesus Christ and be in our judgment.
I Corinthians 6:2-3 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judge by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
NOTE: One of my greatest fears is that I will one day stand in judgment of someone to whom I could have been a witness and was not.
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was NOT found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
NOTE: If you look at the above verses carefully you will see that there is a BOOK OF LIFE and in addition there are BOOKS which have the records of all the so-called good works of the masses, «ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.» A person must have his name in THE BOOK OF LIFE to escape being CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. Those who were JUDGED ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS did not have their names in the BOOK OF LIFE (a separate book) and were CAST ALIVE INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.
