A handy guide that provides a simple approach to leading a soul to Christ.
A church member once blurted out in frustration, “I am tired of being put through a guilt trip each time I go to church. The preacher constantly chides us for not winning souls. I want to but will somebody show me how?” Many Christians must have felt like that. They are expected to do soul-winning without being shown how.

The Soul-Winner’s Handy Guide is prayerfully written and carefully crafted together to provide sharp, succinct, scriptural answers to give to “… every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you… ” ( 1 Pet 3:15 ) It is to aid the soul-winner in understanding why he believes in what he believes with regard to the vast complexities of issues confronting him today so that he can, in turn, confidently lead another soul to the Lord.

Since its first publication, some of the responses received are:

“Fantastic!” (USA)
“The most practical book on personal evangelism.” (Philippines)

“You have made a new soul-winner in me.” (Guam)

“I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book.” (Scotland)

“Where can we get more?” (Trinidad and Tobago)

“A book that should be a part of your library.” (Pastor Navi Bola, Fiji)

“An inspiring and in-depth book for the successful soul-winners.” (Dr M. Suyanto, Indonesia)

“Breathtaking, biblical, scientific for a skeptical age.” (Missionary Rijn Abrell, Australia), et al.

Ambassador Baptist College uses and recommends Pastor Y. T. Wee’s Handbook for Soul-Winning in the Personal Evangelism Class. This excellent manual is an example of the thorough study and diligent effort placed into his work. I can wholeheartedly recommend Pastor Wee’s writings because of the personal character and sound doctrine upon which they are based. — Dr Ron Comfort, President of Ambassador Baptist College, Lattimore, North Carolina, USA.

Witnessing To A Mormon

NOTE: When the Mormon missionaries knock on your door, do not invite them in. Ask them if Joseph Smith «saw» God the Father. If they tell the truth, they will answer, «Yes.» Show them: John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

I John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

And then show them the following:

Exodus 33:17-23 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

NOTE: If God would not let the greatest prophet of the Old Testament see His face, He certainly would not let a 14 year old boy see it!

You can also tell them that you believe the Book of Mormon to be the inspired, infallible, word of God insofar as it has been correctly plagiarized from the AV 1611.

One day a woman named Louise fell asleep in her bed, and dreamed a very frightful dream. She dreamed that someone in Hell wrote a letter to her, and it was to be delivered to her by a messenger. The messenger passed between the lakes of Hell, and found his way to the door that would lead him to the outside world.

Louise dreamed that the messenger walked to her house, came inside, and gently but firmly woke Louise up. He gave her the message, saying only a friend had written it to her from Hell. Louise, in her dream, with trembling hands took the letter and read:

My Friend I stand in Judgment now,
And feel that you’re to blame somehow.
On earth, I walked with you day by day,
And never did you point the way.

You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim;
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together on the earth,
you never told me of the second birth,
and now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention Him.

You taught me many things, that’s true,
I called you «friend» and trusted you,
But I learn now that it’s too late,
You could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, and love, and die,
You knew I’d never live on high.

Yes, I called you a «friend» in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife.
And yet on coming to the end,
I cannot, now, call you «My Friend.»

Now it came to pass that a group existed who called themselves fishermen. And lo, there were many fish in the waters all around. In fact the whole area was surrounded by streams and lakes filled with fish. And the fish were hungry.

Week after week, month after month, and year after year, those who called themselves fishermen met in meetings and talked about their call to fish, the abundance of fish, and how they might go about fishing. Year after year they carefully defined what fishing means, defended fishing as an occupation and declared that fishing is always to be a primary task of fishermen.

These fishermen built large, beautiful buildings for local fishing headquarters. The plea was that everyone should be a fisherman and every fisherman should fish. One thing they didn’t do however, they didn’t fish.

In addition to meeting regularly, they organized a board to send out fishermen to other places where there were many fish. The board was formed by those who had the great vision and courage to speak about fishing, to define fishing, to promote the idea of fishing in far away streams and lakes where many other fish of different colors lived. Also, the board hired staffs and appointed committees and held many meetings to defend fishing, to decide what new streams should be thought about. But the staff and committee members did not fish.

CHRISTIAN: I would like to talk with you about Jesus Christ.

LOST MAN: I really don’t want anything to do with Jesus Christ!

CHRISTIAN: Yes, but you must know that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

Romans 3:23 For ALL HAVE SINNED and come short of the glory of God.

I John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Romans 2:11-12 For there is NO RESPECT OF PERSONS with God! For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

I Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES ARE AS FILTHY RAGS; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind have taken us away.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men ; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

LOST MAN: I really don’t want anything to do with Jesus Christ!

CHRISTIAN: Even though you are a sinner you can have ALL your sins forgiven.

Acts 3:1-16 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame FROM HIS MOTHER’S WOMB was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle BONES received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

And as the lame man which was healed HELD Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people. Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, AS THOUGH BY OUR OWN POWER OR HOLINESS WE HAD MADE THIS MAN TO WALK? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was DETERMINED to let him go. But ye DENIED the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; WHEREOF WE ARE WITNESSES. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know; yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

1) Hour of prayer, ninth hour, 3pm.
2) Lame from his mother’s womb was carried to the gate called beautiful.
3) Laid at the gate daily, Asked alms.
4) In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
5) The healed lame man HELD Peter and John.
6) NOT BY OUR POWER OR HOLINESS have we made this man to walk.
7) God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, GLORIFIED HIS SON.
8) God raised up Christ WHEREOF WE ARE WITNESSES.

It was said that man would never go to the moon: but the men who have been there, the very foot prints that they left behind, and the millions who saw its happening on Television, are all witnesses to their historical accomplishment.

Atomic submarines with their long range nuclear tipped ballistic missiles were but the dream of defense ministers. But their deterrent to the threat of war have made all nations witnesses of their existence.

QUESTION: Are we commanded to warn people of the coming wrath of God?

NOTE: If you see a man on a raft who doesn’t see the waterfalls for which he is headed and you don’t call out and warn him then you are guilty of his death. If you don’t warn people of the «White Throne Judgment» and instead remain quiet then you pass a silent judgment on that person. You knew what was coming and you didn’t tell him.

Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

NOTE: God will require us to give an account of our faithfulness in warning the lost of their sinful condition. Can you make the same statement as the Apostle Paul? He made the statement that he was pure from the blood of all men.

Acts 20:26-28 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Ezekiel 33:3-6 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning: if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head, He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity;

but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

Jeremiah 48:10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

NOTE: Woman, «While you were gone, I met the most amazing man, He told me all about God and Christ’s redeeming power.»

Husband, «Did you tell him to mind his own business?»

Woman, «If you had seen him you would have known, he was minding his business.»

Mark 8:34-38 Â And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

NOTE: God places more value on one soul than He does on the world. God could save the world but told you to go, God uses people.

Isaish 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

ANSWER: Absolutely, yes.

QUESTION: How large is your TREE OF LIFE?

I Corinthians 9:16-23 For though I preach the gospel,

for necessity is laid upon me;

yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ), that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak:

that I might by all means save some.

And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them,

The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:

pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

John 4:34-38 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his word. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that

both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

And herein is that saying true, ONE SOWETH, AND ANOTHER REAPETH. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour:

Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,

SHALL DOUBTLESS come again with rejoicing,

bringing his sheaves with him.

Matthew 5:13-16 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Psalms 142:4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me;

Daniel 12:2-3 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And

they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament;

and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

ANSWER: Your TREE OF LIFE is made up of the souls that you have won to Christ and those that they, in turn, have won to Him. Only The Lord knows if you even have «a tree of life.»

QUESTION: What comparison did Christ make to the VALUE of one soul?

Matthew 16:24-26 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

For what is a man profited, if he SHALL GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, and LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?

or what shall a man GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?

NOTE: This world is an insignificant piece of dust lost in the vastness of the universe. The love of man’s soul is the reason Jesus Christ left His place in glory and took on the shame of the cross.

ANSWER: The world.

What if every person who ever lived was saved and on his way to heaven but one and that «one» was you. You were the one lost soul that was going to hell. That would make the value of that one soul more valuable than ten thousand worlds. Why shouldn’t we place the same «value» on ALL SOULS and not just our own?

To The World You Might Be One Person;
But To One Person You Might Be the World.

The following is excerpted from a sermon preached by Charles Haddon Spurgeon at the Metropolitan Tabernacle on April 25, 1869:

Proverbs 25:14

Whoso boasteth himself of A FALSE GIFT is like clouds and wind without rain.

1. What are «TONGUES»?

a. First mention of the word «tongue» is:

Genesis 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

b. The next references are:

Genesis 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

Genesis 10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

NOTE: The above verses plainly refer to the languages of the descendants of Ham. There is no question about it, TONGUES ARE LANGUAGES, not gibberish.

2. Why are tongues used in the New Testament?

I Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

a. Israel began with signs as a nation.

Exodus 4:29-30 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel: And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

b. What signs did Moses do?

Exodus 4:2-9 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee. And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

NOTE These signs were to show Israel that Moses was their leader.

3. Now we’ve established that tongues are definite languages and that the Jewish nation started with signs and the Jews require signs. Now, the next question; is the gift of tongues a sign?

I Corinthians 14:21-22 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

NOTE These verses plainly say tongues are a sign for unbelieving Jews. Do you believe what the bible SAYS?

Now lets look at some sign gifts:

Mark 16:17-20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
