QUESTION: Who created the Universe and is Heir of all things?

Colossians 1:16-20 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things,

and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Hebrews 1:1-4 GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,

whom he hath appointed HEIR OF ALL THINGS,

by whom also he made the worlds:

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better then the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

ANSWER: Jesus Christ The Lord!

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. OF THE INCREASE OF HIS GOVERNMENT AND PEACE THERE SHALL BE NO END, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Luke 1:30-33 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And HE SHALL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOR EVER; and OF HIS KINGDOM THERE SHALL BE NO END.

Psalms 148:1-14 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his host. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the NAME OF THE LORD:

for he commanded, and they were created.

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise THE NAME OF THE LORD: for HIS NAME alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Verse 5: Let them praise the NAME of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

QUESTION: What is the NAME OF THE LORD who commanded and all things were created?

Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS SON, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also HE MADE THE WORLDS; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of person, and UPHOLDING ALL THINGS by the WORD OF HIS POWER, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent NAME than they.

John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things WERE MADE BY HIM; and without him was NOT any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the WORLD WAS MADE BY HIM, and the world knew him not. He come unto his own, (the Jew) and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on HIS NAME: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Ephesians 3:8-9 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Colossians 1:13-18 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of HIS DEAR SON: In whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For BY HIM were ALL THINGS CREATED, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things WERE CREATED BY HIM, AND FOR HIM: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

ANSWER: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

QUESTION: Did Jesus Christ claim to be equal with God?

Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, Which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God,

thought it not robbery

to be EQUAL WITH GOD:

But made himself of no reputation,

and took upon him the form of a servant,

and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found In fashion as a man,

he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

NOTE: Jesus knew and perceived, As omniscient deity, He «knew it all»; but was confined to a body of flesh and bones. A demonstration of Christ’s humanity as well as His deity.

Mark 8:17a And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, …

Luke 5:22a But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, …

Luke 9:47a And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, …

Luke 11:17a But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, …

Luke 20:23a But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, …

NOTE: He often was limited in energy, thought, and perception by His humanity; but was EQUAL WITH GOD.

John 4:6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

ANSWER: Yes, without a doubt. Not only did He claim to be equal with God, He WAS (and is) God manifest in the flesh.

QUESTION: What is a TRUE JEHOVAH WITNESS?

Matthew 3:13-17 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. then he suffered him. And JESUS, WHEN HE WAS BAPTIZED, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD DESCENDING LIKE A DOVE, and lighting upon him: And lo a VOICE FROM HEAVEN, saying, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased.

1) Jesus is baptized in Jordan
2) Spirit of God descending like a dove
3) God speaks from heaven

NOTE: Three separate beings.

I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and

THESE THREE ARE ONE.

Psalms 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Isaiah 12:2-3 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is may strength and my song; HE ALSO IS BECOME MY SALVATION. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 43:10-13 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

Isaiah 45:15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that his is indeed the Christ, THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.

I John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.

NOTE: Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world? Why haven’t you asked him to save you? If Jehovah is one God & Christ is another God, Jesus is not the Saviour.

Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS;

Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, So God created man IN HIS OWN IMAGE, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as ONE OF US, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

ONE IN THE SAME GOD

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Revelation 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is call THE WORD OF GOD. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

I Timothy 6:13-16 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Revelation 17:13-14 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Deuteronomy 10:16-18 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

Psalms 136:1-26 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever: But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever: And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever: And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

«For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.» (1 John 5:7)

The crucial verse 1 John 5:7 (a.k.a. the Johannine Comma) is widely disputed by textual critics. Modern Bible translators following the 1881 Greek Text of Westcott and Hort are united in their efforts in omitting the Johannine Comma in their texts. There are several legitimate reasons for believing that 1 John 5:7 was penned by the Apostle John under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The first consideration is THE HISTORICAL ARGUMENT. 1 John 5:7 as it reads in our King James Bible stood unchallenged in earlier English Bibles for a full five hundred years! It was in the very first English Bible of John Wycliffe in 1380, in William Tyndale’s New Testament of 1525, in Coverdale’s Bible of 1535, in Matthew’s Bible of 1537, the Taverner’s Bible of 1539, the Great Bible of 1539, the Geneva New Testament of 1557, the Bishop’s Bible of 1568, and in the Authorized Version of 1611. Were the countless godly preachers, theologians, church leaders, editors, translators, etc., who accepted the Trinitarian statement in 1 John 5:7 of those early English Bibles through all those five centuries really so ignorant and deceived? Hardly so!

The second consideration is THE THEOLOGICAL ARGUMENT. Textual interpolation or forgery is made highly credible through its striking similarity with the original documents and not through its uniqueness. The Trinitarian formula, “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost» is distinctly exclusive for the Apostle John but the formula «the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost» is quite common for all other New Testament writers. The usual formula, «the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost» would have been most assuredly used by a forger instead in 1 John 5:7.

The third consideration is THE GRAMMATICAL ARGUMENT. The omission of the Johannine Comma will render the passage in 1 John 5:7-8 incomplete. It is common scriptural practice to present solemn biblical truths or warnings in groups of three or four parallel verses. Examples are the repeated phrase “three things, yea four” of Prov. 30:15, 18, 21, 29, and the constantly recurring refrain, “for three transgressions and for four,” of the prophet Amos (Amos 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 13; 2:1, 4, 6). In Gen. 40:6-19 the butler saw “three branches” and the baker saw “three baskets.” In Matt. 12:40 Jesus said, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” It is in accord with biblical procedure therefore to expect that in 1 John 5:7-8 the formula, “there are three that bear record (or witness),” will be repeated at least twice -one witness in heaven and another in earth- to complete the parallel. When the Johannine Comma is included, the formula is repeated twice and completes the thought sequence. When it is omitted, the formula is repeated only once and leaves the passage wanting which seems strange.

The Bible says there is only one God, but He is manifest in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God the Son. Recently I met a Jehovah’s Witness who is a leader in one of their churches in Nepal. He told me that they have 600 «baptized members» and many churches in this remote land. They publish and distribute large quantities of literature, and he told me that he and others go out every day to preach and distribute tracts. While he admitted that Jesus is the Son of God, he refused to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is truly God.

To the contrary, the Bible says Jesus Christ is God. «Who says?» someone might ask. Following are some of those in the Bible who said that Jesus Christ is God.

DAVID CALLED HIM GOD

Matthew 22:42-45 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

ISAIAH CALLED HIM GOD

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel»

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.»

JEREMIAH CALLED HIM GOD

Jeremiah 23:5-6 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

MATTHEW CALLED HIM GOD

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

QUESTION: Was «Fallen Man» created in God’s image?

Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 5:1-5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years,

and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image;

and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

ANSWER: No! Notice that God created Adam is His own likeness and image. Adam begat a son in his own likeness and his own image. All people thereafter, however, were created in the image and likeness of Adam; not in the image and likeness of God.

NOTE: The human race has only two sources: Adam and Jesus Christ.

HUMMINGBIRDS AND EVOLUTION

The following article by Eugene Halonen is from Christian News, March 27, 1989:

During the week of February 12, 1989, public television channels presented
a beautiful documentary on hummingbirds. The material included spectacular
and unchallengeable proofs of creation that the narrator repeatedly
described as adaptations due to evolution. He stated that in the tropical
rain forest there are species of flowers, which, because of their peculiar
design, can be pollinated only by hummingbirds with bills of matching design.

One flower is curved, preventing insect pollination. ONLY one particular
species of hummingbird with a matching curved bill can penetrate to the
stigma and can thus pollinate the flower. The other is a large flower, 6 to
8 inches long, which can be pollinated only by the Sword Bill Hummingbird
whose bill is longer than its body length.

Each of these flowers is dependent for its very existence, therefore, on
the hummingbird that pollinates it. And each hummingbird, as well, is
dependent for its existence on the flower that it pollinates—the bird must
have the flowers’ nectar to sustain its life.

Since the flowers have no perches, the tiny birds must hover at the
flower’s opening with wings beating 1200 times per minutes, and heart
beating 398 times per minutes. The hummingbird uses such an enormous amount
of energy while hovering, that it MUST FEED EVERY 3 TO 5 SECONDS.

Evolution (transmutation) requires millions of years (and hundreds of
thousands of transitional fossils for each transmutation according to
Darwin) to progress from a simple amoeba to a creature as amazingly complex
as a hummingbird. Consider, too, the astronomical odds against a specific
species of flower and a specific species of bird, from two totally
different kingdoms, appearing on the scene at the very same instant. But
the stark reality is that if both flowers and hummingbirds were not there,
TOGETHER, FULLY DEVELOPED and FULLY FUNCTIONING, AT THE VERY SAME MOMENT IN
TIME, both species would quickly die!! The hummingbird without the flowers’
nectar would falter and fall to its death within 10 seconds or so; and the
flowers would wilt and die shortly thereafter, having no pollinator to keep
them alive.
